What does Polyelctrolyte do in water treatment?
What is polyelctrolyte added for in the chemical treatment of drinking water?
Poly-electrolyte is a compound of very large molecules that have many points on the molecule that have a bonding point for a ion.
It is like the resin in a water softener.
It has a harmless ion like sodium or potassium which it releases and bonds to other ions like Magnesium that can cause diarrhea.
If it is added separately to the water, it can be filtered out with the magnesium attached.
